my 4th week of attachment!

yup! my 4th week of attachment will be the happiest attachment so far! it is relaxing, and what's good, it satisfied my curiosity! hehe. what's that?

i was attached for O&G (Obstetric and Gynaecology) for this week! =)
Bad thing is that i got a really complicated case as my first case, and I can't get to go on the second day as i have to prepare my PCIs where other of my groupmates went and witness a delivery. however, nothing to worry about as I had been granted with a lovely and considerate groupmates and they are very willing to wait till i get to see the whole delivery process myself.

i get to witness the whole labour thing on Wednesday! :)

Jane and I were waiting (as we're the two missing out on Tuesday) from 11am after clerking our case. C'mon c'mon, we're pursuading the babies to come out for us. Too bad, i guess we're not influential enough, they refuse to come into the world when we're around. after waited for like 1 hour and 30 minutes, we headed to grab our lunch at Sushi King, and some err, shoppings =x supposed to be a last minute shopping, i have to get my hair spray as i don't want to waste my money going to the saloon. We only get back to the delivery room at 3pm. =( guess what? the babies wanted to join us for Sushi King and all of them had already came out and had their first meal! argh. T___T

I suddenly thought of a brilliant idea, hehe, which is checking their BHTs (Bed head tickets). check their dilation and the expected time, if its too late, i guess it does not worth the wait and we probably could make a return next day. I asked the doctor (omg, they are really helpful in aiding and guiding us: the lost sheep!) yupe, she told me this patient had a dilation of 7cm at 12noon, around 4pm they will do a check on the contractions.
yippie! i shouted to myself.

but err, honestly when i first saw, i was frightened and everything as i never thought that it can be that big! the hole, I say.

after some wait, we see some nurses hurried into that particular labour room. I followed as well, trying to figure out what happen. OMG i see the head! i mean, from the hole! :D all my groupmates joined me and we're watching outside the labour room (with the sliding door opened lol).

i can't exactly describe the whole magnificent event, but what i can say is that, i had watched the complete episode from the mother pushing hard, to the baby was born, to the baby's first meal, to the baby's weighing and clearing of BO, and to the removing of umbilical cord and placenta, and finally comes to the stitching.
you'll feel the surge of joy immediately when you see the baby! no wonder Mothers willing to go through all these pain just to give birth to a baby, it really worth the pain. =)

not forget to mention, the mother had 3 abortions (due to complications) before and this is the first kid of hers. we are very proud of her and happy at the same time where she delivered a healthy, cute baby boy!
fyi, its 4.0kg! it is huge!!!

really, i felt so proud of women of all the world when i saw how much pain they had gone through during labour. and i think that males should always get to see how female go through this!

our pain threshold are really high (KaeShih, 2010)

mom, love you to bits! <3

p/s: will post up pics on my annual dinner, yeah? toodles.

Psychiatric ward for the week

I had been attached to the psychiatric ward for the whole week in HKL. yeah, it is superbly interesting, in fact, seeing all the patient with their madness and some are real adorable =) in such a way how they talk to us, and act.
but when you go through their BHTs, you'll discover what a sad story behind every patient, on how they got mad and develop this psychosis in them. Some used to be a professor who used to be highly honored by everyone, some used to be a top student in engineering pursuing degree in Germany, some were due to their backgrounds, how their parents treated them. it is really sad, isn't it?

Intan (one of my crazy coursemates ;)) had mentioned, it's kinda impossible for someone to go crazy if you have a strong religious belief, which i had really agreed alot. sometimes we human need guidance from God, as long as we believe in God, we will be led by his own ways and we can always stay away from Satan's grip. agree?

Today is Good Friday, where we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and Sunday will be Easter day (yippie, Easter eggs!), where he rose from the death.

yeap! I'm a Catholic and i'm proud of myself being born as a Catholic!

and im gonna drag him to go to church with me no matter wat! ngek ngek ngek~~~
